My "Alone-cone(s)"

When Hailey and Kaden were smaller, they loved to watch dragon tails. (Kinley, not so much). To be honest, I was a little weirded out with Zach and Weezy. Boy/Girl dragons that are stuck together.
In one episode, Zach needed to be alone, so he put on the "Alone-cone". It was a cone that he put on his head so he couldn't see or hear his sister. (I personally, don’t blame him...she was super annoying...LOOOOOOVEEEE ITTTTT!!! Ug, its been years, and it still can haunt me!) ANYWAY. For the past year, I have been somewhat jealous of Thomas' office. I told him all the time it was his alone-cone. A place that he could go, and the rest of us just didn’t go there. Well, with the basement finished, I got some space all to myself. Lets check it out. (CAUTION: These rooms ARE NOT decorated....you have been warned!)

With Kaden moving to the basement, it freed up his room to be my much anticipated "office". I have a desk, my computer and my all craft crap in here. The closet is full of all my scrapbook stuff I have collected but not done over the years. I has my toll painting, sewing (which I don't know how to do, so I'm not sure why I have it...) I have loved coming in here to talk on the phone. Shut the door (put on the cone) and have a quiet conversation. I have yet to have time to do any of my projects (I have been canning) but that will come!!
This is my workout room. Yeah, its safe from everyone else. Thomas keep threatening to use it, (and that would be okay) but so far, its just a threat. I love to watch the TV use the treadmill...sweat...go numb...ahhh my alone cone!! It is complete with a lock on the door. Kids have stopped even trying to think they can come in here. Its moms room :).

This is my bedroom. Not new, but it is one of my favorite places in the house that is mine. I do let Thomas in here, for the record.
I have enjoyed the basement. It has opened up a lot of room. Kaden has voiced his opinion that "mom has a lot of room's to herself" to which I reply "when your the dad you can give your wife lots of rooms to herself."
I'm not spoiled. I'm well taken care of....there is a difference!

LOL! I hear ya on the Dragon Tales. But I do love the idea that you have an 'alone-cone' area at your house! I think mom's need it more than anyone since we seem to be the most in charge and run the show! I love your office.. you have waited for years for it! Now can I come and finish our Welcome bear outfits?? LOL!!

You are so dang cute! Love your alone time corner, cute room, get your sanity back room! Cute color on the walls, beautiful bed! I am glad you let your husband in your bedroom (Steve will always correct me when I say 'my bedroom' - it is 'our bedroom'!) Sometimes it is just MY bedroom! Homes would be a scary place if mom's didn't shut the door, lock it - & regroup! You are a great MOM, WIFE, FRIEND & example! Loved your onion story too! I remember all those onions on the roads in Syracuse! Miss you! Lisa

I love your room! You have a gorgeous bedroom, and I am so jealous that you have your own room like that! The only room in my house that I can have completely to myself is my laundry room. Pathetic, huh?

YOu have a beautiful home and I too am jealous of all "your" rooms. I agree that a Mom needs her alone time, I usually get mine in the bathroom after Cameron is in bed.

What the heck do you mean these rooms aren't decorated?! They're beautiful! Are you aiming for the Taj Mehal? (I can't spell) Anyway, good work! They're beautiful!

How fun! I need an alone cone!! Arden follows me everywhere, she is my little shadow. Only one more year till preschool! I guess by then Daxton will be old enough to walk so he will follow me around. Oh well, I guess I will enjoy it while it lasts. Soon they will be teenagers and never want to hang out with me.

You go girl!!! My parents had a sign that hung in our house growing up that said "Happy Wife, Happy Life". With all those rooms to yourself, everyone at your house should be so happy. Glad to hear you let Thomas in the bedroom :). I just might implement this 'alone-cone' thing at my house. So happy for you and your rooms (I'm jealous of your work-out room)!!

I'm a little jealous of your new craft room. I live in a six bedroom house and still don't have a craft room. Everyone at our house has two rooms each, except for me! Anyway, congratulations on finishing your basement I know you've been working on it for a LONG time.

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one that Weezy creeped out a bit. Her voice was enough to make me go crazy. And I know exactly which episode you are talking about.

Congratulations on your much deserved rooms. When my sewing room was done (er...cleaned) it became my favorite room, even though it is a corner of the unfinished basement. It is MINE just for me, and that is all that matters. I don't have much luck at keeping the kids out, though. =(
